Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Our Best Hope

Impeachment is a long shot (although one I'm strongly in favor of), so Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation remains our best hope for derailing the Combover Cockatiel's Crazy Train.  Mueller had already snagged Paul Manafort, George Papadopoulos, and Rick Gates.

Today, in no surprise, he got former national security adviser Michael Flynn to plead guilty.  Flynn will reportedly cooperate with Mueller's investigation.  Since so many in the administration have some connection to Russia, they're fearful Flynn will start naming names.  Butts are clenching all over D.C.

The White House is predictably trying to downplay Flynn's downfall.  One lawyer put it this way:

"Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn."

He forgot to add, "Yet."
