They're voting today in Alabama, choosing between a Bible-thumping pedophile twice removed from office and a . . . Democrat. We'll soon see if Alabama has learned anything, or if they still hold the title as Stupidest State.
In a last-minute campaign stop, Roy Moore and his wife tried to dispel the notion that they are old-school white racists. Yes, Roy said that the last time America was great was "when families were united, even though we had slavery." But the Moores insist they're glad to know a diverse range of people, not just honkies such as themselves.
Mrs. Moore said, "Fake news would tell you that we don't care for Jews. Let me set the record straight. One of our attorneys is a Jew. So we can't possibly be anti-Semitic, can we?"
"Furthermore," she went on, "I'll have you know that our gardener is Japanese . . . "
"Our new roof was installed by some nice Mexican boys . . . "
"Our favorite Seven-Eleven is owned by an Indian gentleman . . . "
"And our cook at home is a lovely black woman we call Mammy."
