This belligerent and completely unnecessary action drew immediate condemnation from world leaders, including Dolt 45's own administration. The State Dept. issued immediate warnings against any travel to Israel. Only people named Trump or Netanyahu thought it was a good idea.
Since Israel's founding 70 years ago, Palestinians have been understandably pissed off. Israel was carved out of Palestinian territory and received nation status. Palestine got bubkes. For all that time, Jerusalem has been diplomatically regarded as a disputed territory where the best course of action is to let the Israelis and Palestinians negotiate their own two-state solution.
But the Boy Blunder decided to poke the hornet's nest. He could not have picked a more volatile, risky location. Jerusalem is the Venn Diagram of divine entitlement, with Muslims, Jews and Christians all having overlapping and competing historic claims.
As I wrote in 2011:
Jerusalem illustrates one of the never-ending problems in all of religious history, that of zealotry -- the true believers with unshakable faith that their God, their Book, their Son O’ God is obviously, undeniably the only way to go, and anyone who says different is not only wrong and itchin’ for a fight, but also very likely evil. Religious zealotry breeds smug, self-satisfied snobbery and, at its worst, violence and war.

Trump's miscalculation has killed any chance of a meaningful peace process. Fuhgeddaboudit, Jared. It will certainly result in violent protests or worse. The real question is, will World War III begin in the Far East or the Middle East?

The silver lining is that Agent Orange will be voted out of office or impeached long before any of this particular lunacy can be implemented.
