Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Two Quick Thoughts On MLK Day

One.  What sort of clueless moron picks MLK weekend to launch an insult-tweet barrage at Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga), a beloved civil rights icon?  Either someone who doesn't know John Lewis's history, or someone who doesn't care.  In this case, probably both.

Two.  There are perhaps as many as 40 million American children under the age of 10 who have known no one other than Barack Obama as their president.  An eloquent, cool black guy is their normal, their default expectation of "presidential."  How great is that?  They're about to get something, uh, different.
