Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

The Mitt-Wit Has Foot-In-Mouth Disease

Hard on the heels of The Glove's "foreign policy" offensive (and yes, it was offensive), comes some new leaked video where Mittens dismisses half of American society as indolent mooches living on the government dole; folks that he just can't worry about:

Mitt is standing by his comments but acknowledges that they "were not elegantly stated." Well, duh! Mitt's next elegant statement will be his first.

I think David Brooks of the NY Times had a better take on it in his column Thurston Howell Romney:

"As a description of America today, Romney’s comment is a country-club fantasy. It’s what self-satisfied millionaires say to each other."

And in this one, Romney tells his completely Caucasian audience he wishes he were born "Latino."

What a Mitt-wit!
