Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Mitt Romney, Aircraft Designer

Last week, while at 40,000 feet, Ann Romney's private jet experienced a small electrical fire with some smoke in the cabin.  The plane made an emergency landing, and all passengers and crew were fine.

Her husband -- who was not on the plane and who, by the way, is running for president -- observed that "When you have a fire in an aircraft, there's no place to go.  And you can't find any oxygen from outside . . . because the windows don't open.  I don't know why they don't do that, but it's a real problem."

The guy who wants to lead our country also wants roll-down windows on jets.  Holy shit!

If he were on a submarine and a fire broke out, he'd probably want to open the hatches.
