Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Nero Fiddled While Rome Burned. Trump Tweeted While Houston Flooded.

This photo is from yesterday, showing nursing home residents in the Houston area waiting to be rescued as flood waters rise around them.  The facility was evacuated in time and everyone was OK.

While this was occurring, and with FEMA and NOAA critically understaffed, Prima Donald was blithely tweeting about size of the storm --"HISTORIC rainfall!  WOW!" -- (got a thing about size, doesn't he?), the stupid Mexican wall -- "We must have THE WALL.  Mexico will pay for it by reimbursement/other" --  and a lousy book by lousy Sheriff David Clarke -- "A great book by a great guy, highly recommended!".

I can't take much more of this crap.
