Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

An Inspirational Candidate

Donald Trump is an inspiration to all -- all, that is, who'd like to spew stupidity and bigotry and hatred, but know they probably shouldn't.  So Trump does it for them, and they love him for it.

He's also an aspirational candidate -- some people aspire to be like him, i.e. rich and filter-free, seemingly able to say whatever he wants without consequence.  Trump is the asshole ideal for other asshole wanna-be's.  Think rich Biff in Back To The Future.

Trump is the personification of all the internet-comment trolls out there in the ether, sans the anonymity.  He revels in the inflammatory, the outrageous, the provocative.  Forget politically correct, Trump doesn't even bother with straight-up correct.

It's early, but the bigoted asshole troll is still the favorite of GOP primary voters.  And moving up to second with those voters is Trump's little bro, his partner-in-slime Ted Cruz.  Cruz is doing his own Trump imitation -- lying his ass off and rising in the polls as a result.  (Ergo, Republicans love liars?)

Cruz has recently claimed that the Planned Parenthood murderer/terrorist is "a trans-gendered leftist activist" and that "the overwhelming majority of violent felons are Democrats, and the media doesn't report that."

Teddy, the media doesn't report that because it isn't true.  But I'll give you credit -- those statements are world-class, grade A, bodacious bullshit.  Ooh-boy!
