Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Amid Chaos, Doubt, And Small Hopes, A Turd Is Still A Turd

What a shit show!  Jeff Flake voted with all the other majority Republicans to approve Kavanaugh out of Committee and on to a full Senate confirmation vote.  Then he found a fragment of his spine and suddenly called for a one-week delay on the full vote so there could be . . . an FBI investigation!  (Where was this bright idea from Flake before?)  He said he had support for the delay from several other Republicans.  If so, he may be able to force Mitch to tell Donnie Dipstick to open an FBI probe.

Or not.  Who knows?  This process has been a goddam circus, and now it's sheer chaos.

Whatever happens, Kavanaugh remains a turd who's unfit for the Supreme Court.

On that note, I leave you with the words of the late Tom Wolfe in The Bonfire of the Vanities:

"In my house, when a turd appears, we throw it out.  We dispose of it.  We flush it away.  We don't put it on the table and call it caviar."
