Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

General Kelly Knew What He Signed Up For

Just like the Boy Blunder said in his offensive, botched condolence call to a military widow -- "He knew what he signed up for, but I guess it hurts anyway." -- General Kelly knew what he signed up for as chief of staff:  the painful duty of defending a malignant narcissistic liar.

Fake President Donnie John started the fire, igniting this incident with his big, stupid mouth.  He lied, saying "President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn't make calls."  Yes, they did, you asshole!  "Well, that's what I was told."

Florida Rep. Fredrica Wilson, who heard the phone call and reported Trump's words to the press, was correct when she said Trump's message to Myeshia Johnson, widow of Green Beret Sgt. LaDavid Johnson, was flippant, insensitive and disrespectful -- he didn't even use Sgt. Johnson's name -- the exact opposite of the proper tone (which the Idiot-In-Chief is incapable of locating).  Trump reacted to Rep. Wilson's statement by lying and denying that he said any such thing.

Kelly's attempt to "translate Trump" for the press backfired as he essentially confirmed what Rep. Wilson said, thereby confirming Trump had lied.  He then boosted his fail quotient by claiming he was "stunned" that she had listened in on the call.  (Is "no listening" some sort of new rule?)  Rep. Wilson is an old family friend of the Johnsons.  The call came in on speaker phone as rode they together with others in a car.  Was she supposed to stick her fingers in her ears?

Kelly then dug his hole a little deeper by telling a lie about Rep.Wilson.  He accused  her of bragging in a 2015 speech about her fundraising efforts for an FBI building.  He called her an "empty barrel making the most noise."  But the record shows she spoke solely about her work in getting the building named for two FBI agents killed in the line of duty.  Wilson called Kelly's comment what it was -- a lie.

When asked about Kelly's lie, White House spokes-hag Sarah Huckabee Sanders insulted Rep.Wilson -- "All hat, no cattle" -- and declared that entering into "a debate with a four-star Marine general is highly inappropriate."  Sarah's new rule:  generals are allowed to lie with impunity and it's un-American to ever question them.  Because they're generals.  She was later forced to self-translate and try to walk back her ludicrous comment, saying she meant only to defend Gen. Kelly's "credibility" -- which is now nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, Hair Twittler continues to fan the flames, tweeting childish insults at "wacky" Rep. Wilson and his imaginary "Fake News Media."

Gag me!  Trump and his entire administration are swamp scum, a national embarrassment and a worst-case scenario come to life.  This is what Kelly signed up for.  Any other administration would have ended this sorry episode with a quick and sincere apology to the Johnson family.  But not these geniuses.  They don't do sincere, and they sure as hell don't do apologies.

Obama begins calling the American people to
console them about Trump being president.
"I feel terrible I didn't get to this sooner."

By the way, regarding the ambush in Niger which took the life of Sgt. Johnson and three others, BENGHAZI!!!!  BENGHAZI!!!  I mean, who knew we had 600 special forces troops in Niger, of all places?  And now, due to incompetence and intelligence failures, four are dead in a a surprise attack, their bodies eventually transported by contractors (Blackwater, Halliburton, or the like).  If Fox News and Trey Gowdy have even a shred of remaining credibility, then for years to come they'll be lighting their hair on fire and blaming this scandal on Obama and Hillary.  Oh, oops . . . better make that Trump and Tillerson.
