Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Do You Know Hill & Knowlton? No? Then You Just Got Spun!
Hill & Knowlton is one the oldest public relations firms in America. Infamously, they created Big Tobacco's PR campaigns of the 1950's and 60's -- cigarettes are fine, maybe even good for you! Hill & Knowlton pushed a strategy for their tobacco clients to cast doubt on scientific evidence linking smoking and lung cancer.
Since 2009, Hill & Knowlton has been the official PR firm of ANGA,the American Natural Gas Alliance. They're pushing a strategy for their nat gas clients to cast doubt on scientific evidence linking fracking and contamination of ground water and drinking water.
Just like there is no safe cigarette, there is no safe frack well. But some things never change. For a price, these PR weasels will try to sell us poison.
This blog is offered as an amusement to any open-minded, liberal-leaning readers who may stumble upon it, and as an educational service to the closed-minded conservative crowd.
I hope you like it. If you don't, get your own blog.
