Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

The Philosopher's Corner: Adlai And Bibi

(The Old Philosopher, D.W., wishes it to be known that the adjective "old" is chosen by Buster, not the Philosopher himself, and since seventy is the new forty, the word is entirely subjective and not necessarily accurate.  He acknowledges, however, that "The Old Philosopher" has a certain ring to it.)

"A free society is one where it is safe to be unpopular."
-- Adlai Stevenson

Stevenson was a man who should have been president, but we went with the war hero, later a movie star, and later still an idiot.

So much for a free society.

And how about that group that is rabid for sovereignty, but is cheering wildly as Bibi Netanyahu tries to blast it apart?

Go Yahus.
