Looks like Droopy Dog |
Yesterday, the fake president's mouthpiece hailed his boss's firing of Andrew McCabe and "prayed" for an immediate end to Robert Mueller's probe, which he called "fraudulent and corrupt."
In his emailed statement, Dowd included a bit of "amended" dialogue from the Tennessee Williams' play, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof:
"Big Daddy" |
Dowd is obviously implying that the FBI [Bureau] and James Comey [Jim] are corrupt and mendacious. But his literary reference is a curious one, full of unintended irony.
In the play, the line is delivered by the "Big Daddy" character, patriarch of his troubled family. Big Daddy is rich and dumb. He's relentlessly cruel and controlling, an imperious, dishonest, womanizing hater. (Remind you of anyone?) He's also unaware that he's terminally ill. The death he smells is his own.
