Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Six Months For "Happy" Feet

Remember back in May when six young residents of Tehran made a video of themselves dancing to Pharell Williams' "Happy" and were promptly arrested by Iranian authorities?  Well, today they were finally sentenced for their "crime" and the judge gave each of them 6 months in jail and 91 lashes.

Lashes??  Are you friggin' kidding?  Lashes?  Is Adrian Peterson serving his suspension in Iran?  (Just kidding!  Too soon?)

Luckily, all the sentences were suspended and none of them will do jail time or be lashed.  The judge released them and told them to behave themselves, i.e. don't dance!
