Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Freak Out!

Who's freaking out?  Republican politicians, a.k.a. bought-and-sold NRA puppets.

Why are they freaking out?  Because President Obama crossed one more item off his "rhymes-with-bucket" list (and I couldn't be more proud of him).  The president announced new executive orders -- a few teeny-tiny, no-big-deal, common sense rules and regulations on certain background checks and on unlicensed gun dealers.  His orders are extremely modest in scope and do not violate anyone's "precious" Second Amendment "rights".  No reasonable person should have any objection.

But reason and Republicans parted ways a long time ago.  After Obama's announcement, our brilliant right-tard class spent the rest of the day shrieking about lawsuits, constitutionality, and executive over-reach.

How about a big, steaming cup of Shut-The-Fuck-Up?!  All these corrupt, screaming weasels gave up their complaining rights after Newtown, when they couldn't summon the backbone to defy the NRA and pass new background check legislation.  They had their chance -- Newtown! -- and, to their eternal shame, they took a pass.

Accordingly, Judge Buster sentences these venal Republicans and anyone else who agrees with them to join Ammon Bundy and his merry militia morons in the frigid Oregon highlands until further notice.  Go away and celebrate your freedoms in the middle of nowhere while trying not to freeze your ass off!  You might want to snuggle up with a warm rifle muzzle.
