Lemmings Ready To Go Over The Cliff

When it comes to the Russia probe, Donnie Dumpster is up shit creek without a paddle.  Obstruction of justice is obvious.  It's desperation time.

For the first time in American history, ignoring strong warnings against doing so, a president has OK'd the public release of a classified document which both the DOJ and the FBI Director say is false.  He's going to war against his own intelligence services.  He's doing it to cover his ass, no other reason.  He's doing it because the only way he can stop Mueller's investigation is to destroy it.

The document in question, the so-called Nunes memo, turned out to be underwhelming.  It cries foul because the DOJ's application to the FISA court for a surveillance warrant of Carter Page relied, in part, on the Steele dossier, which they claim is biased.  It's not biased, it's basic oppo research on Trump, originally funded by Republicans, and it found plenty of Russian links that had nothing to do with hookers peeing on him in a Moscow hotel.

FISA has approved surveillance of Carter Page going back to 2014, well before the Steele research.  Since then, many warrants against Page have been applied for and FISA has never turned one down.  That's because Carter Page is an ass-hat.  (Literally.)  He has openly bragged about his Russian connections for years.  This guy should be under surveillance, always.

The Nunes memo does not "totally vindicate Trump," as the fake president tweeted today.  Quite the opposite.  The release of the memo shows it for what it is -- a totally partisan fraud concocted to discredit the Russia probe.  A weak, sloppy piece of work.  Even so, the dysfunctional GOP idiots are all lining up behind it, like lemmings ready to follow Dear Leader over the cliff.

Interestingly, neither Trump nor Nunes actually read the FISA warrant application which was the basis for the just-released memo.  Brilliant!  Typical for the "Reading-is-a-waste-of-time-just-let-me-watch-Fox & Friends" administration.

Two related tidbits:  Trump has refused to renew U.S. sanctions against Russia for their election meddling.  His CIA director Mike Pompeo just had secret meetings with Russian intelligence officials.  Hmmm.

It's time to put Don the Con and his gang of miscreants out of business permanently.
