Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Current Hazard -- Giant Southern Sausage!

Current hazard indeed!  This Texas-size twig-and-berries could have been from any of the Austin Powers movies.  But in this case, it was a Gulf Coast Storm Center weather map from Monday.

Naturally, some obvious phallic hilarity ensued.  Some of the better comments:
  • If this storm lasts longer than four hours, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Tennessee says, "Not tonight, Texas, I'm tired."
  • Don't expect this storm to pull out quickly.
  • This storm is definitely going to penetrate deep down south.
  • I'm tired of being promised 8 inches and only getting 4!
  • In a few thousand years some alien historian is going to stumble across this post, read the comments and finally understand, after years of study, exactly how we humans, a clever and able species, managed to let ourselves get caught in another ice age -- we were too busy making dick jokes to flee, and I'm OK with that.
