FBI Texting "Scandal"
FBI agent Peter Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe earlier this year when it was discovered he had exchanged hundreds of text messages during the 2016 campaign with another agent which included disparaging remarks about Donald Trump and other Republicans. Strzok also worked on the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.
With dubious timing, Trump's Dept. of Justice released some of those texts this week. Strzok and the other agent, Lisa Page, called Trump a "dipshit" and "a loathsome human" who espouses "bigoted nonsense." Strzok said the GOP "needs to pull their head out of their ass."
Even though both agents were promptly reassigned, and there is absolutely no evidence they attempted to influence the investigation or were even in a position to do so, Republicans seized upon the disclosure of their texts as proof of an anti-Trump conspiracy within the FBI. They're now publicly questioning Robert Mueller's honesty and impartiality, and calling for a special investigation of the Special Investigation. In other words, the R's are going full-Benghazi once again. Trump is fanning the flames by bad-mouthing the FBI at every turn.
What incredible bullshit from the GOP! There's no "scandal" here at all. Because the heat is rising in Mueller's kitchen, Republicans are hoping to distract us by lighting their hair on fire in a well-rehearsed show of outrage over . . . what?
The FBI, like all other government agencies, is staffed almost entirely by non-political employees. These employees have their personal political opinions, just like you and me. The idea that the only fair investigation of Trump would be one conducted just by partisan pro-Trump investigators is ridiculous. The conserva-tard notion of a left-leaning, pro-Democrat bias in the FBI is absurd. The FBI is a law enforcement agency and, as a class, law enforcement skews to the right. So get real. A pair of texting agents in an agency of 35,000 people is not an indication of some sinister plot.
Our fake president engenders very strong opinions. His own Secretary of State has called him a "fucking moron." Millions of Americans, including me, are in complete agreement with Strzok and Page -- our feckless leader is indeed a loathsome human dipshit full of bigoted nonsense.
The only sin of Strzok and Page is that of poor judgment -- they indiscreetly exchanged their political views by texting on government-issued cell phones. Oops! Not smart.
The real political bias here is the prejudicial decision by the DOJ to gin up a faux scandal by releasing the texts in order to divert attention from Trump's genuine Russia scandal.
