Another email to my elected officials in D.C.

Dear Sen. Brown
Sen. Portman
Rep. Tiberi
The deadline for health
insurance companies to file 2018 rates for the ACA exchanges has been extended
to September 5th, but cost-sharing reduction payments (CSR’s) are
still being held hostage month to month.
No guarantee of continuing CSR payments will mean unacceptable,
unnecessary and utterly avoidable increases in rates and premiums, and may
cause insurance companies to pull out of the ACA exchanges.
If Congressional Republicans
allow the Pouting Prez to wantonly sabotage the ACA, the American public will
rightly blame the entire Republican Party, not just our fake president, for the
resulting market chaos. Republicans will
pay a heavy political price for letting this occur.
You have legislative opportunities
coming up – the debt ceiling increase, the budget resolution, spending bills,
etc. – to permanently fund the CSR’s and take the option of deliberate
destruction away from our unhinged, untrustworthy chief executive.
