Welcome to Buster's Blog

Irregular commentary on whatever's on my mind -- politics, sports, current events, and life in general. After twenty years of writing business and community newsletters, fifteen years of fantasy baseball newsletters, and two years of email "columns", this is, I suppose, the inevitable result: the awful conceit that someone might actually care to read what I have to say. Posts may be added often, rarely, or never again. As always, my mood and motivation are unpredictable.

Samsung's Perverse Sense Of Humor

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smart phone has been a failure of epic proportions.  The lithium battery (or something) is prone to spontaneous combustion.  At first, the company tried an exchange program, sending customers an "improved" version of the phone, which was just as bad and did exactly the same thing as original version.  Recently, they gave up and announced a total discontinuation of the Galaxy 7.  They're recalling every last one of 'em.

The perversely funny part is that to facilitate the recall, Samsung is sending all owners of their dud product a fire-proof container for return shipping.

A company spokesperson said, "We were OK with it when our phones were exploding in our customers' pockets and burning the shit out of their legs, but now that the phones are being shipped back to us, we must take precautions."
